Ben and Bills Chocolate Emporium
Located in historic downtown Falmouth, Ben and Bills is a lovely little shop located directly on main street. Upon entering the store one is immediately taken back to oldie timey days when candy was a penny and you could buy over the counter heroin. Ben and bills is in a small shop that really has that old time feel, walls of chocolates and other delicious sundries meet you at the door. The ceiling is adorned with tons of old fashion lamps.
We each got a small in a cup, Tess got the Buttercrunch (their winter special) and I got the triple chocolate. They were both spectacular, really good really creamy and really tasty. The price was a little high, and there was no place to sit down but the ice cream was really good. Creamy, tasty and rich. The serving was so big we actually had a hard time finishing it. And these were smalls.

[...] The flavor sort of crept up the tounge, getting into your senses slowly. The only other cream that was close (so far) has been Ben and Bills in falmouth. Ben and Bills cream smacked you in the mouth with flavor, while Four Seas sort of sneaks up on your taste buds like a skilled ninja. Before you know it the flavor has attacked all your taste buds and you are in ice cream heaven. Very good. [...]
Ben and Bill’s has outdoor seating! Shane and I visited in March (one of the few places open in winter) and we noted that there was no seating, however, once the weather rolled in we noticed that they do in fact have cute tables and chairs out front. Enjoy!
I just got back from Marthas Vineyard and went to Ben and Bills for an ice cream. What a let down. It was way to big, which doesnt necessarily mean its better ice cream, as the reviewers would like to believe. but it seemed to take away from the fact that the ice cream wasnt good at all. I had to throw away half of it, which was a total waste, and the ice cream (Mud Pie) tasted like syrup, and was granulated, like frozen sugar. Not very good at all.
Just came from Ben and Bills on Martha’s Vineyard and it was the best ice cream I ever had! I had a scoop of ginger and a scoop of vanilla caramel fudge. The ginger was particularly delicious with the chunks of ginger in the ice cream and it was so creamy and fresh! Also sampled rum raisin which I will get next time. So many interesting flavors it was hard to choose!
I visited the Cape Cod area at the end of August, 2006. While there I toured for ice cream. Ben and Bill’s in Falmouth was the best of the many that I sampled on the Cape. I had a scoop of triple chocolate and a scoop of peanut butter. You can really taste a difference from all the other ice cream establishments. It has a homemade taste of each flavor in the ice cream. Plus the ice cream scoops are big and oh so creamy. All I can say is that it was overall a pure taste that was unique experience to be had. I would definitely return again when I revisit the Cape.
The thing about Ben and Bills is that it’s the best ice cream but really, a small is way too big. I live here and only order a kiddie size, and that’s all the ice cream one could possibly need in one sitting.
The have pretty good chocolates, too.
