The Cape Cod Ice Cream Challenge

Eulinda’s Ice Cream

 

A perfect addition to route 28a, Eulinda’s Ice Cream is a particularly lovely little ice cream cart in West Falmouth.  Eulinda’s is located with a church on one side, and lovely wooded cove on the other with a lovely front and back yard.  Did I mention its lovely.

 

Tess and I have been driving past the place for months waiting for it to be open.  The ice cream underground seems to indicate that the place is owned and operated by a school teacher, and as such is not fully open all week long until the school year is over.

   

 

So we waited…  When our schedule matched up with Eulinda’s we struck.  Eulinda’s is in a very nice location.  It has beautiful landscaping, and the outdoor seating is under majestic and tall maple trees that are really nice this time of year.  The interior is really nice, and the walls are covered in memorabilia.  

 

Eulinda’s serves Richardson Farm ice cream, like many other locations on Cape Cod.  Tess got Reece’s peanut butter cup, and I got Oreo.  We have had Richardson’s before and found it average.  This time was not much different.  The ice cream was good, but not memorable.  Tess thought that the Resse’s could have used more peanut butter cups, and that the peanut butter flavor was not strong enough, mine had plenty of tasty Oreo, but the flavor was not very strong.

Over all Eulinda’s setting is better than its cream.  It’s still worth a visit, the place is just too nice not to stop, and while the ice cream will not win any awards, you can have a very nice time sitting under the trees eating a nice scoop.
