Smitty’s Too Homemade Ice Cream
Smitty’s seems to be slowly developing a small ice cream empire here on Cape Cod. With A store in Falmouth, one on 28a and one in Mashpee, you can find Smitty’s Homemade Ice Cream all over.
Smitty’s Too is right next to the Jack In The Beanstalk Vegetable Stand. This makes for the interesting possibility of getting your vegetables (which are good for you) with your ice cream (which is not). While we did not get any veggies, being a Midwestern boy myself, I can say with no qualms that Cape Cod corn is NEVER going to taste right, the ice cream however was not that bad.
Smitty’s Too is in a nice enough location with ample seating and fast service. The servers seemed to be having a bad day as they were a little short with us, but it was hot in there and there was a lot of people in line, and I would imagine they don’t get paid that much.
Since our first success with a guest reviewer, our friends have been clamoring to come with us on a few ice cream missions. After some intensive pre-eating training at the beach, Tess, myself, Julian, and Jessie headed to Smitty’s Too.
For simplicity find below the ice cream chart of goodness.
I got Shark tooth = chocolate ice cream with white chocolate chips
Julian got Rocky Road = chocolate ice cream with pistachios and march mellow
Jessie got Mint Oreo = mint ice cream with Oreo
Tess got a banana milk shake (I know very against the rules but we already had three ice creams ordered and it was Smitty’s ice cream which we had already reviewed so we let Tess get away with ordering a milk shake)
The ice cream was average, I am not sure if it was the trip over from Falmouth or if that batch was bad, but Smitty’s Too was not as good as Smitty’s the original. The ice cream was sort of milky and bland. Tess’ milk shake was HUGE which was good, but it took a really long time to make.
We have said it before, if you are traveling down 28a you really should be going to Somerset Creamery. Smitty’s Too is average at best, and should only be visited if you would like to pick up some veggies at the same time.

the ice cream was good. Staff was not that friendly. They have a good flavor selection.
i work at the original smittys and will agree that the kids over at smittys too aren’t as sweet, cute, nice, or just all around great as the kids over at the original smittys and smittys in mashpee…but i still think our ice cream is the best around!
