This is another shop that people have been letting us know about. Found in South Yarmouth, Cape Cod Creamery is found at the intersection of Theater Colony Rd and Rt 28 in a big, beautiful, white house with wrap about porch and plenty of seating. In short, picturesque.

Inside is colorful and clean. The display case was one of the best I’ve seen, as the ice cream is definitely meant to be looked at in their small gelato-style bins. It suggested (and tasted) to me that they make a lot of small, fresh batches instead of the giant tubs that stay in the freezer a long time. We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon, so everyone was at the beach, but the way it is set up inside with an obvious area for a line to form, they must be busy in the evening, and I tasted why. The ice cream was absolutely smooth and delicious!

Shane chose chocolate chip cookie dough and I chose coffee after much internal debate. I was struggling between peach and coffee. I was obviously having trouble deciding so the great staff suggested that I sample the ones I was thinking about. Both were AMAZING. The peach had small pieces of peach in it, not chunks, but small pieces of the pulp. Both the peach and the coffee were BURSTING with flavor. The coffee had specks of real coffee bean in it (not in a gross way, it really added a lot to the ice cream). Finally I decided on the coffee because I had not had a cup that day and was craving some anyway. I found my coffee ice cream to be rich, just short of drinking a perfecting brewed cup with just the right amount of cream and sugar. Shane’s Cookie Dough was also great! The dough was soft, melting in your mouth a little bit, with little bits of chocolate both in the ice cream and the dough. This ice cream was the smoothest ice cream I have ever had. Even writing this now, a few days later, I am surprised how good it was.

Cape Cod Creamery Scoops

Shane and I enjoyed our ice cream on the porch sitting at a cute table, although adirondack chairs lined the porch. There were big blue hydrangeas and tiger lilies in the yard to admire. It made for a really relaxing place to savor every drip of our scoops.

Cape Cod Creamery makes their own ice cream and waffle cones. Additionally, they have gelato and a delectable looking coffee bar. I hope to get back there (we still have a lot of other shops to get to!) and try their lemon ice cream, coconut ice cream, or perhaps get that peach scoop I was craving. Whether you’re a local or a vacationer, get over to the Cape Cod Creamery tonight!

Our family spent a week-long trip on Cape Cod this past August. Not sure exactly why we’ve never stopped here before. So glad we decided to stop this time around. We’re hooked now! Hubby and I both ordered the Monomoy Mud Pie, YUMM!!!
Sure, we’ve been to Sundae School before. It’s good but, in our opinion, Cape Cod Creamery is BETTER!
CCC’s ice cream is the tastiest and, by far, the creamiest!
    Can’t wait to go back….

the servings have gotten much bigger as time has gone on. we went this week and i couldn’t even finish my small cup of peanut butter, it was so big (and, incidentally, the best peanut butter ice cream i have EVER had. ever.) flavors are fresh, perfectly smooth, and addictive. you can tell how much time and love the owners put into this venture.
