Ojala Farms Bird In The Pie Shop
Anyone who has lived on Cape Cod for more than a year knows that 6A is a magnet for tourists. They creep down it at a snails pace enjoying the fine old houses, and the cute little shops. One such shop is Ojala Farms Bird in the Pie Shop.
Located in a rustic old Cape Cod house, Ojala’s makes the perfect addition to 6A’s look and feel. The drive way is paved with old clam and oyster shells, and the building itself feels like is has been in that same spot for a hundred years.
One of the first things you notice when you enter Ojalas is the smell. Pies, cakes, and sugary bread treats great your nose and set your mouth to watering. They also have a very nice display case for the bakery and a really cool blue fireplace.
Ojala does not make there own ice cream but instead uses cream from Creative Creamery. This is a new one for Tess and I we had not yet tasted this brand. Tess got banana nut fudge, and I had chocolate peanut butter cups.
Both flavors were good, tasty and creamy, but lacked anything special. It’s hard to make a bad scoop of ice cream. Unfortunately Ojala’s just doesn’t “bring it”, Tess and I “got served” a nice scoop but not a great one. Give Ojala’s a try if you are traveling down scenic 6A, its a super cute little shop with a lovely selection of pies and cakes.
